I’ve Been Hiding Something [Life Update]

I’ve been hiding something—not because I am ashamed or even secretive, but because I didn’t really see the relevance.

But with some reflection, I realised something important…

The statistics are too high not to share.

My story might help someone else.

And because cancer doesn’t discriminate.

Last year, at 38, I was diagnosed with colon cancer.

Was it a shock?

Oddly—not entirely. Part of me was relieved to finally have answers to symptoms I had been experiencing for a while.

Did it turn my life upside down?

Absolutely.

Did I have to reinvent myself?

In some ways—yes.

Cancer has a way of bringing savage truth into your life.

Because when you're suddenly face-to-face with mortality, things get very real, very quickly.

I HAD to strip away what didn’t matter:

Drama.

Other people’s expectations.

The endless “shoulds” we convince ourselves to live by.

What remained was clarity—a return to what truly matters:

Connection
Truth
Purpose

🐪 And for me—camels.

The Unveiling

This experience has been, in many ways, an unveiling.

Most days, I’m not afraid of the cancer.

Some days (like at 2am), I crumble—because I’m human after all.

I chose to step away from the fear-based approach that echos through our world and explore deeper:

What if the body is a messenger?

What if illness is not an enemy, but a teacher?

What if healing begins with presence, not panic?

Choosing a less conventional path made me realise—I’m not alone.

There are thousands of people around the world who believe the body can heal when the mind stops fighting it - and they DO heal!

My Purpose Reignited in the face of death

With The New, something has to die. It's the cycle of life.

One thing became clearer than ever:

My work with camels is not just something I do—it’s my life's purpose.

Teaching.
Guiding.
Watching people transform through connection—with camels, and with themselves.

This is how we can get More Camels in More People’s Lives.

And the way that this is possible —is through education.

My work has never been stronger.

My purpose has never felt clearer.

Because what I now know is this:

When you don’t feel like you have a purpose, you’re not really living—you’re just existing.

And purpose doesn’t have to be loud or flashy.

It can be gentle, meaningful, made up of many threads:

👨‍👧 Family
🐪 Animals
🌱 Healing
📚 Learning
💬 Storytelling
🎯 And the small choices we make each day to keep going.

Answering the Call

Big life events come with big wake-up calls.

And I’m answering mine.

I’m not just existing—

I’m existing ON purpose.

A few months ago, I said yes to being interviewed about my cancer (healing) journey.

It was my way of “coming out,” because most of the healing journey has been quiet and behind the scenes.

But good stories—the kind that heal—need context.

You don’t need to have cancer to find value in the message.

You might simply need a reminder.

Or you might know someone who needs a little balm for the soul.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks for being here.

And thanks—for believing in camels, connection, and what really matters.
